A 17-year-old student in Bahawalpur, Pakistan was arrested by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency after allegedly consulting AI chatbots for instructions on preparing and administering poison to kill his father without detection. Inspired by crime dramas, the teenager had set up a home laboratory and sourced chemicals from Australia and Islamabad, and had already made one unsuccessful attempt to poison his father before seeking further AI guidance on how to finish the task undetected. No fatality or confirmed lasting injury to the father was reported, and the teenager was taken into custody before a second attempt could be made.
